Haryana is one of the 29 states in India, located in northern part of the nation and Chandigarh is the state capital. It was carved out on 1 November 1966 from the prior state of East Punjab on linguistic as well as on cultural basis. Talking about the Lok Sabha seats of Haryana, the state has total number of 10 seats in the Lok Sabha, out of which 2 are reserved for Scheduled Castes and no seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes.  Not only Lok Sabha, but also Haryana offers 5 seats in the Rajya Sabha.

The North Indian state of Haryana offers 10 seats in the Lok Sabha. Talking about the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, out of these 10 seats the Bharatiya Janata party had won seven with a vote share of 34.8 per cent. The Indian National Lok Dal had seized two seats with a vote share of 24.4 per cent, while on the other hand, the Indian National Congress was third by accessing only one seat with a vote share of 23 per cent.

The constituency of Haryana Lok sabha election are as follows:

Ambala, Kurukshetra, Sirsa, Hissar, Karnal, Sonipat, Rohtak, Bhiwani –Mahendragarh, Gurgaon, Faridabad.

At the time of the preceding general elections in 2014, Haryana had a total number of 16,097,230 registered electors, out of which 71.45 per cent, or total number of 11,501,251, exercised their right to franchise all over 16,244 polling stations in order to select their 10 Members of Parliament from among 230 candidates.
