4 July is the most prominent national celebration in the United States. It commemorates the proclamation of Independence, affirmed on 4 July 1776. The Thirteen Colonies of America announced themselves to state and no longer bit of the British Empire, though the revolutionary battle last for some time after.
The real United States of America was made up of a group of East Coast states identify as the Thirteen Colonies. These were: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts Bay, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
These mainly agrarian communities were ruled by the British – who had been being on the continent since 1587 – and misused for their resources, especially tobacco.

While the connection between the pioneers and British was once peaceable, stresses began to intensify over British laws and taxes, such as the Sugar Act, forced by British financial needs. There was also a developing sense of patriotism in the country.
From 1765, some pioneers began to ask ‘no taxation without description’, calling for their choice to have listened in the British parliament.
This stress sometimes exploded into combat and acts of disagreement, such as the Boston Tea Party in 1773. The issue was a rally against the Tea Act, a law which gave the British East India Company a patent on sales of tea in the Thirteen Colonies.
Further, the ailing feeling was created by the Coercive Acts – which grew known as the ‘Intolerable Acts’ to American Patriots – which were executed in answer to the Boston Tea Party. The regulations took command away from semi-autonomous Massachusetts.
