10 human foods that you can feed your dogṣ

Unfortunately, most parents feel confused and anxious about feeding their dogs, and if you are someone who feels the same, here are a few human foods that you can feed your dog and for their overall health and development. Let’s see what they are.

  1. Peanut butter

Probably the best food on this list that your little fluffy partner will also love is peanut butter. It is the best snack you can stuff inside their favourite toys and leave them for hours.

Peanut butter also has rich sources of protein, heart-healthy fats, Vitamin B, vitamin E, and niacin that help the dog to stay active. But make sure you consume it in a balanced manner as it contains calories in a high amount which is bound to make your dog gain weight.

However, make sure that you feed plain, unsalted peanut butter to your friend. It shouldn’t also contain any artificial sweeteners because extra ingredients such as salt and xylitol can be very harmful to your dog.

  1. Yogurt

Another food that you can share with your little friend is yoghurt. Yoghurt is rich in protein and calcium, making it extremely great for canines. Furthermore, it also contains various probiotics which are great for your dog’s digestive system.

But again, also make sure that the yoghurt is free from any artificial sweeteners such as one from PETstock to ensure they are always safe and healthy.

  1. Baby carrots

Carrots are low-calorie fruits that are great for your dog’s canines. They are also high in fibre, carotene, and vitamin A which is good for their health. You can feed them cooked or raw carrots but make sure to slice them up into thin pieces to prevent them from choking.

  1. Green peas

Green peas are also low in calories and great diet food for your pet. Not only is it delicious but also loaded with high fibre and carbohydrates which are great for their health.

However, when you are feeding them, always make sure to serve the frozen ones and not the canned peas as they contain salts in them, which can be harmful after consuming.

  1. Eggs

It’s safe to say that you can feed eggs to your little mate. One medium perfectly cooked egg has high amounts of protein which are very beneficial for your dog.

You can either feed them boiled eggs or scramble them before serving them on their plate. Avoid any kind of seasoning. Also, never feed your dog raw eggs, because it’s unsure whether they will like it or not and it might be possible that bacteria such as salmonella might travel from them to you.

  1. Apple slices

Apples are naturally sweet, so if your pup is a sweet tooth, they are a great choice to feed them. Not only that, apples are a rich source of fibre, vitamin A, and vitamin C. They also help in cleaning off the residue from their mouths which further makes their breath fresh.

But make sure, you only give them slices, after taking out the seeds and hard stem so they can chew and swallow properly.

  1. Oats

A new addition to the dog food list has been oats. Cooked oats are a great source of fibre which helps solve irregular digestive issues in senior dogs. It is also an amazing alternative for dogs who are allergic to wheat.

While feeding, see that it’s plain oats without any added flavour or taste as it might become harmful for your pet friend.

  1. Bread

Plain white or whole-grain bread is safe for your dog to munch on occasionally.

Why? Because of high-calorie contact, it can make your dog overweight. Also, avoid any flavoured bread such as ones with raisins.

  1. Rice

Feeding rice to your pets on a regular basis is a good diet plan. Whether it’s plain white rice or brown rice, dogs are able to digest this food easily.

You can also go ahead and add broccoli, chicken, or cooked salmon if you want to add in extra protein.

  1. Popcorn

Now you can watch a movie and chill properly with your roommate while sharing a bucket of popcorn.

Yes, popcorns are a great occasional treat for your pup as long it does not contain salt and butter. Yes, that’s right, you should only feed air-popped popcorn that is fully popcorn so that they are able to swallow it.

These were some of my top choices for human foods for dogs. What was your favourite?
