On Monday, 10 persons were killed and 19 others injured when their bus fell into a canal at Nayakangudem in Khammam district, Telangana state in the wee hours.
Early this morning, 3 persons died in Andhra Pradesh when their car met with an accident in Chittoor district when they were returning from the Krishna Pushkaralu festivali.
The local police said that the driver of the private bus was driving the bus at a very high speed. He lost control over the bus, as a result the bus fell into the canal on its way to Kakinada from Hyderabad under Kusumanchi mandal.
The government of Andhra Pradesh announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh each to the family of the 10 deceased.
Some of the victims belonged to west Godavari and some were from east Godavari district of the Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the accident and spoke to Arun kumar who is the Collector of East Godavari district on phone to enquiry about the incident.
Kumar said that the 19 injured persons were admitted immediatlet to the Government General Hospital for treatment.
Meantime, early morning of Monday, 3 persons were killed in a separate road accident in the Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.
The car in which the deceased person were travelling rammed into a stationary lorry on the highway at Srimallavaram village. The 3 deceased persons belonging to Madanapalle.
The victims were returning to their town after taking part in the Krishna Pushkaralu.
A communication from the CMO Office in Vijayawada said that Naidu also spoke to Siddarth Jain who is the Collector of Chittoor district over phone and enquired about the incident.
