The Bollywood film-maker Mahesh Bhatt’s launched a new daily soap namely, “Naamkaran” which is all set to air from tonight and the show will replace the popular show, “Diya Aur Baati Hum”, in the 9 pm slot. “Diya Aur Baati Hum” touted as a most top rated show of the channel, so expectation from “Naamkaran” is already huge.
As per the reports, the show is loosely based on Mahesh Bhatt’s 1998 Hindi film, “Zakhm”. While some other sources are stating that the new daily soap “Naamkaran” is inspired by Mahesh Bhatt’s own life.
“Naamkaran” is touted as very interesting and unique topic TV series which is the focus on the life of a young girl, Avni played by the child artist Arsheen Naamdar who lives with her single mother Asha (Barkha Bisht). In the first promo, we came across Avni’s inquisitive nature upon hearing the word, ‘Kanya Daan’ at a wedding she wonder who will be doing her ‘kanyadan’.
As in the nuptial ceremony, she sees that dad of a girl is doing the ‘kanyadaan’ and she have no dad. Apparently, the storyline of the show would be dealt with the Avni’s perspective. Asha, Avni’s mother would have faced a lot of troubles in her life to bear and rear Avni alone.
But still for Asha her daughter Avni is the strong pillar. As per the reports, Avni will be an illegitimate child. Actor Viraf Patel is roped to play the role of Avni’s father on the show. It will be interesting to see whether Viraf Patel is married to Barkha or not.
Regarding the show Mahesh Bhatt stated to media that, “Naamkaran is the story of a young girl who lives with a single parent and begins a quest to define herself in this world with its prevalent, hypocritical, tumbling moral structure and she finds herself locking horns with them, adjusting to them, and finally emerging”.
