2 police personnel & 9 Maoists killed in an encounter Kistaram area of Chattishgarh

According to the recent reports, gunfire was observed in the Kistaram area of Chattishgarh on Monday afternoon. The battle was between the state police and Maoists, where nine Maoists and two state police personnel were killed in a gun battle.

The gunbattle took place at the forest in Kistaram area bordering Telangana, around 500 km from Raipur in Sukma district under Kistaram police station area.

According to Sukma’s Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena the team of security personnel was on an anti-Naxal operation when this incident took place.

DM Awasthi who is a special director general of police of anti-Naxal operations in India, said about the occurrence that in the gun battle between police team and group of Maoist community people nine Maoist are killed and the number may also increase and with the joint efforts of special teams such as DRG, CRPF and STF, the encounter area is sealed off.

“We have recovered the bodies of total nine Maoists till now and the number can increase,” said by DM Awasthi.

DM Awasthi, also further added by saying “A joint team of DRG (District Reserve Guard), CRPF and special task force (STF) have cordoned off the area and the encounter is going on”

Maoist is a communist party in India whose main purpose is to defeat, rebel or to take over the government of India through people’s war. The Communist Party of India (Maoist) was established on 21st September 2004, through the union of the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) People’s War (People’s War Group), and the Maoist Communist Centre of India (MCCI).

In 2018 only there are almost total number of 21 incidents occurred because of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) in which more than 15 people were wounded and 90+ people killed including police personnel, armed force personnel, BSF personnel, civillians etc.

According to the reports, the senior officer said that two DRG recruits were killed during gun battling with the Maoists in their central area. He further said that the procedure to evacuate the DRG jawans, who died in gun fire, has started and more details about the occurrence will be announced soon and are yet to come.
