After five months three youths of Srinagar were gunned down in a fake encounter in the Shopian district. The Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) police have charge sheet three persons, including paving way for a possible court-martial, and an Army captain. As per the latest details, the 1400 page charge sheet was filed in the court of principal district and sessions judge, Shopian on Saturday by the head of the Special Investigation Team, the official said on Sunday.
The charge sheet indicated by an Army officer and two others stating that They forcibly and purposefully chose not to follow SOPs, they illegally planted weapons and material on their bodies after finding their identity and tagged them as hardcore terrorists in possession of war-like stores and deliberately providing false information to colleagues and seniors”.
SIT Recreated Crime Scene:-
The Special Investigation Team (STI) that was constituted by the J&K police to probe the case recreated all the scenes of the crime, including routes used after investigating the victims by the accused and the place where the victim was murdered, as per the statements of witnesses.
During the investigation, a statement of 49 witnesses was recorded under relevant sections of law and a total of 75 witnesses were listed under the list of witnesses arrogate. In a significant move, also one accused was made an approver in the case.
As per the details and officials of J&K police, an order has been issued by Shopian Court asking the Army authorities under relevant sections of the law to give their opinion whether the accused Captain Bhoopendra Singh alias Major Basher Khan of 62 RR be tired by the Criminal Court of Ordinary jurisdiction.
