5 prisoners, including 4 serving life term, escape from Buxar jail

In a terrifying incidents, on the late night of 30th December 2016, Five convicts including four serving life imprisonment, escaped from the Buxar Central Jail by scaling the prison wall.

DM Raman Kumar said in the morning that the jailbreak took place between 12 midnight and 3 AM.

He further said that dhoti, pipe and Iron road have been found at the spot from where the prisoners scaled the wall.

Superintendent of Police – Upendra Sharma said that those escaped named as Prajit Singh hailing from Motihari, Girdhari Rai of Chapra, Sonu Pandey and Upendra Sah of Ara, all four serving life imprisonment and Sonu Singh of Brahampur, Buxar, convicted for 10 years.

DM – Raman Kumar said that after probing the incident, responsibility would be fixed on the erring jail officials for the jail break.

The SP admitted that security has been breached. SP said that the thick fog must have helped them in escaping.
