Five members of the same family were killed in serious and massive shooting done by Pakistani forces on the Sunday morning near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. This violence was resulting in strong reprisal by Indian troops and this one is created huge tension in the state.
Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, his wife, and three minor sons were killed in this fire and gun shoot which also hit their house in Devta Dhar village in Balakote sector. His two daughters are critically injured.
The gunfire started around 7:45 am, Army spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand stated of this issue, adding up that Pakistani troops were “specifically targeting civilian areas”.
“This is highly condemnable. Pakistan is doing this out of frustration as it is suffering heavy losses in the hands of security forces. The Modi government has allowed unprecedented professional freedom to security forces to respond in a manner they deem fit,” Union Minister of State (MoS) in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh told in a statement.
On the Last week, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the armed forces struck back suitably to ceasefire violations by the Pakistani army “wherever necessary”, this can add in the defenses along the border were being at regular intervals carrying weapons to endure any kind of brutal attack.
In an answer in the Rajya Sabha regarding the questions related to the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Ms. Sitharaman told that 209 incidents of ceasefire violations by the Pakistani army were reported and also these kinds of incidents happened of the Line of Control in January.

On the last month, of February, four Army personnel, which includes, a 22-year-old Captain, were killed in Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch and Rajouri districts. Army Vice Chief Sarath Chand had told already that India will continue to give a “befitting reply” and its “action will speak for itself” regarding this issue.
