Well, things aren’t going easy for the RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. As you all may be heard that he is in a hospital lately because of the medical condition, now when he is convicted for the fourth fodder scam case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from Dumka treasury in the early 1990s he isn’t going to be alright. As per the reports, a special CBI court sentenced him on Saturday for 14 years with 60 Lakh rupees fine. As per the reports, CBI judge Shiv Pal Singh sentenced the Supremo of RJD under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Acts.
Also, on these, both the sentences will have to be served consecutively. Also, the Advocate Vishnu Sharma, while explaining the court’s decision addressed that, “Lalu Prasad has been sentenced to seven years in prison under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged), 477 (fraudulent cancellation, destruction of will or valuable security) and 120B (punishment of criminal conspiracy), and penalised Rs 30 lakh.
Also, if he’ll not pay fine then he will spend one more year in prison for each of the two sets of sections, Sharma added. Even the special court also pronounced the quantum of sentence for 18 other convicts in the case. Former regional director of animal husbandry department O P Diwarkar received the same punishment as Prasad and going to be his partner inside as he was outside.
You all should know that nine other Animal Husbandry Department officials and former IAS officer Phoolchand Singh was already waiting inside with seven years in prison and fined Rs 30 lakh each as they all are involved in this mess. Also, if they all will fail in paying the fine then that would entail an additional 18-month prison term for each of them.
