In Pargwal sector of Akhnoor on early Sunday morning, The Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers exchange heavy fire, post 2 BSF men were killed in Pakistani sniper fire previously in the night.

In-charge of the Brij Lal Sharma, the Pargwal police post, said, “Around 2.15 am on Sunday, two BSF men were killed in sniper fire by Pakistan across the international border in Pargwal sector of Akhnoor subdivision in Jammu.”
Another police officer said that the Pak Rangers actually, targeted the Pargwal market.

An Intelligence official said that 2:15 am Pakistan Rangers of 21 Chenab Rangers opened sniper fire at BSF’s on Jaman Bela post of 33 Battalion in Pargwal sector.
“As a result BSF constable V K Pandey and ASI S N Yadav died on the spot and mortar firing started between both the sides, which is continuing,” he added further.
Pandey was 27 and Yadav was 48.
