JEE Main 2019: Exam dates, shift allotment expected to be released today; check jeemain.nic.in

The authority of NTA is going to conduct the well-known entrance exam of JEE Main from the year 2019. JEE Main is a national level engineering exam conducted to provide admission into various renowned engineering institutions like IIT, NIT, and CFTI. To take admission into the courses like B.E, B.Plan, B.Tech, and B.Arch, candidates must qualify the JEE Main entrance test.

The HR Ministry has decided to conduct the JEE Main entrance test twice a year from the year 2019. Also, the responsibility to conduct the exams is provided to NTA. The entrance test will be conducted in two sessions in the month of January and April through online mode.

The HRD ministry has introduced several new changes in the JEE Main entrance test. The new changes introduced are:

  • The National testing agency will conduct the entrance test through online mode in eight different sitings on various decided exam dates.

  • This time candidates will be able to book their slots through the website.

  • Candidates who will come under the top 2, 24,000 qualified candidates in the JEE Main test will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

  • The authority has recognized total 258 exam centers which include 248 centers in India and 10 in foreign countries.

  • The authority of NTA has set up around 2,697 practice centers for the candidates from 1st September. Students can practice on Saturdays and Sundays for 1 hour free of cost.

Candidates applying for the test also must go through the eligibility criteria provided by the authority. A candidate is eligible for admission if he/she has scored a minimum of 75% marks or has appeared in the top 20 percentile in the intermediate exam. For ST/SC candidate the minimum qualifying marks are 65%.
