WhatsApp is working on the UI to add Contacts directly from the application. It is also working on a feature which will permit user to send contats using QR codes. WhatsApp to add QR codes for contact sharing
WABetaInfo in a blog post late on Tuesday said, “It was already possible in the past, but WhatsApp wanted to start to redesign this functionality on iOS and Android, making it easier to use. The feature will replace the current option, so it will be located in the same menu. The UI is very simple and intuitive. You can choose the country where the user is located (owner of the phone number you want to add), so WhatsApp will automatically insert the country code, then you can insert the phone number.”
WhatsApp share contact via QR Code
The QR code was firstly in iOS but is now being introduced in Android too. It would be useful for people belonging to firms, so they can share their contact with several people through QR codes.
WhatsApp’s new Add Contact feature
When a person will scan a QR contact code, the contact will automatically be saved in the address book. Generating QR contact code will also have cancelling option; so if any user wants to cancel his/her QR contact code, can revoke it and the QR will become invalid or will expire afterwards.
