International Migrants Day is observed annually on 18 December in agreement with Resolution 55/93 of the United Nations General Assembly, which was approved on 4th December 2000. International Migrants Day was initially perceived as a chance to identify the assistance made by masses of migrants to their host and home country economy. Secondly, it was perceived as to encourage admiration and respect for their elementary human rights.

In the year 1997, the migrant organisation from Filipino and Asia initiated rejoicing and upholding 18 December as the International Day of Solidarity with Migrants. This date was selected for the reason that it was on 18 December 1990, the same day when United Nation accepted the Worldwide Agreement on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.
International Migrants Day Celebrations
On this date, the world took a milestone phase advancing with the acceptance of the Worldwide Compact for Non-violent, Systematic and Steady Migration.
Supported with devastating support by the association of the United Nations, the Compact will assist us to discourse the actual tasks of migration while gaining its several profits. The Compact is people sprinted and is embedded in human rights.
On this day various events are held to raise the awareness about the migrations and the rights related to it. Through speeches, lectures, campaigns etc. all these information are transferred to the general public for their general awareness about migrations.
Migrants on this day raise their voices against the problems faced by them and spreading basic human rights to other migrants in the country so that any kind of injustice can be stopped immediately.
It points the way toward more lawful and authorized prospects for relocation and sturdier act to crash down on human trafficking.
