The most awaited ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is about to begin this year and only after few months we all will get the chance to explore this 2019 significant tournament. 2019 Cricket World Cup warm-up fixtures announced
On Thursday, the official warm-up fixtures of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 are declared by the International cricket body. The warm-up fixtures are going to be played in England and Wales.
There is total number of 10 competing nations and each team is going to play two official warm-up fixtures in advance of the tournament, which is going to betake place at four venues across England and Wales.
The warm-up fixtures are going to be held in five days that is from 24 May 2019 to 28 May 2019. The matches are going to be hosted at the Bristol County Ground, Cardiff Wales Stadium, Hampshire Bowl and The Oval.
Team India is scheduled to play against New Zealand on May 25 at the Oval as well as against Bangladesh on May 28 at Cardiff Wales Stadium.
In a statement, ICC World Cup 2019 Managing Director Steve Elworthy said, “It is always a huge milestone announcing an exciting warm-up schedule for the Men’s Cricket World Cup as it really highlights just how close we are to the action getting underway this summer”.
He further said, “These games provide another fantastic opportunity for fans to see world-class players at their local venue and allows the tournament to engage local schools and communities with another chance to get involved with the Cricket World Cup.”
According to the earlier ICC tournaments, warm-up fixtures are going to be 50 over per side. As during the match the teams can field entire members of their 15 man squad so it will not bring official ODI status.
The 12th edition of ICC Cricket World Cup commencing is going to begin from 30th May 2019 and will be held till 14th July 2019. This season of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is going to be hosted by England and Wales, which has already hosted the tournament back in 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1999 years.
