The most awaited Express train, Vande Bharat which is also known as the Train 18 was finally flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, 15th February 2019. Vande Bharat is India’s first semi-high speed intercity electric multiple unit. The train took its inaugural journey with Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and other railway board members on board from New Delhi.
Vande Bharat Express: Train 18 Fare/Price
Talking about the exterior appearance of consists of Vande Bharat , it is aerodynamic tapering at both ends of the train. At each end of the train, it has a driver coach which allows faster turnaround at both end of the line. The train comprises of 16 passenger cars, along with a seating capacity of 1,128 travellers.
The first class compartments comprise of 52 seats each and are two of the centre compartments of the train. The rest of the coaches compartments comprises of seating of 78 each.
Vande Bharat Express train Route
The Vande Bharat Express train is going to connect New Delhi to Varanasi. It will travel a distance of more than 750 km at a speed of 130 kmph. The centrally air-conditioned luxury train will complete the journey in around eight hours. It will make stops at Kanpur and Allahabad.

The Vande Bharat Express train will leave at 6 am from New Delhi and will reach at 2 pm in Varanasi. Though, on the same day of its coming back journey it will depart at 3pm from Varanasi and will reach Delhi at 11 pm. The train will ply on the route for five days in a week apart from two days that is on Monday and Thursday.
Vande Bharat Express train ticket costs
Vande Bharat Express train ticket costs for New Delhi to Varanasi is going to cost Rs 3,310 for executive class (EC) and Rs 1,760 for the chair car (CC), with taxes.
Vande Bharat Express train ticket costs for travelling between Delhi and Kanpur will cost Rs 1,090 in the chair car (CC) class and Rs 2,105 in the executive class (EC).
Though, the ticket price for travel in the middle of Delhi and Allahabad is Rs 1,395 for CC class and Rs 2,750 for the EC class. However, for travel between Kanpur and Allahabad, the price for CC class tickets will cost Rs 595 and for EC class tickets it is Rs 1,170.
Train tickets are also now accessible and can be bought over the counter as well as passengers can book the tickets on irctc.co.in.
The train, a native creation under the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the NDA government and it is designed as well as built by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) Chennai. The train was initially named Train 18 but due to indigenous product it was renamed Vande Bharat Express recently in previous month.

Train 18 breakdown: The Vande Bharat Express was being brought back to New Delhi from Varanasi for its first commercial run on Sunday when the breaks jammed in one of the last coaches. There is uncertainty over Sunday’s first commercial run.
As per the railway officials, the Vande Bharat Express is going to soon substitute Shatabdi Express trains that operate in the middle of Delhi and Varanasi route. Additional unit is intended for production over the next year, along with four additional units in the following year, for a total number of six.
