Spotify is now accessible for Indian users with cheaper premium plans and 30-day free trial

Finally, Spotify, an audio streaming platform is now accessible for Indian users. The authorized application is accessible for download on Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store. It’s also obtainable on desktop for Windows and MacOS.

Spotify is launched by Spotify AB on 7 October 2008 and it provides DRM-protected music and podcasts from record labels and media companies. As a freemium service, basic features are free with ads or spontaneous music videos, whereas extra features, such as better streaming quality, are accessible through paid subscription.

The free version of Spotify will propose limited access to the content which offers India-specific genres such as Bollywood, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu along with international music.

Spotify is combined with additional platforms such as smart speakers, Google Maps, Tinder and Instagram. In total, the streaming app is well-matched with more than 500 products across 200 hardware brands.

The iPhone users in India have to visit the official Spotify website in order to subscribe for the premium version of Spotify. On the other hand, Android users can sign up for the premium version from the application.

Spotify Premium: Subscription plans

Spotify premium provides ad-free unconstrained music, podcasts and offline support. For Spotify Premium users, Spotify is offering a 30-day free trial in India after which it will start charging Rs 119 per month.

Spotify is also providing recharge-like top-up choices which will start as low as Rs 13 for 1 day. By using Paytm users can pay for these top-up recharges.

The top-up plans are:

  • Rs 39 for 7 days
  • Rs 129 for 1 month
  • Rs 389 for 3 months
  • Rs 719 for 6 months
