On the late Friday night, a woman and her two minor children were killed after a Pakistani mortar shell hit their house along the Line of Control in Jhullas area of Poonch district. Her husband was critically injured after the attack but it was very unfortunate for the woman and her two children who were minor and even one of them was nine months old.

On Thursday, the authorities had ordered the shutting of schools inside a range 5 km from the International Border with Pakistan and the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. India and Pakistan approved to a ceasefire along the LoC in the year 2003. The ceasefire has been over and over again violated over the last few years.
However, on Saturday there was no pause in ceasefire violations by Pakistan army. Defence spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand said, “On Saturday Pak continued with its nefarious designs and at about 1230 hours again initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing of small arms along the LoC in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district”. He then further added, by saying that Indian Army is striking back strongly and commendably.
