Major social networking sites such as Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram faced the major global outage last night which prohibited people from sending messages or downloading media. “Earlier today, some people and businesses experienced trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps and platforms. The issue has since been resolved and we should be back at 100% for everyone. We’re sorry for any inconvenience,” a Facebook spokesperson has reacted to the outage.

Previously in the day, a lot of users worldwide were not able to send and receive images, videos as well as other files over its social media platforms which also comprises of WhatsApp and Instagram, along with other social media company who said that they are working to fix the problem.
Facebook earlier said when the issue occurred, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #facebookdown”
Late on Wednesday, Facebook said that the issue with uploading or sending media files on its apps and platforms has been now resolved.
Instagram , on the other hand also tweeted at that time, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images and videos on Instagram. We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #instagramdown”
Facebook also said, “During one of our routine maintenance operations, we triggered an issue that is making it difficult for some people to upload or send photos and videos,”
Facebook, which gets tens of millions of dollars every single day from advertising revenue, declined to comment on it when they were asked whether it will recompense businesses. A similar event also took place in the month of March, the company then said that it would consider refunding advertisers for lost exposure.
Yesterday, a tweet from Messenger also said, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images and videos on Messenger. We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #messengerdown”
The problem seems to be more in South America and Europe.
From the outage Map on the Down Detector, it looks like in India, there are not many issues with WhatsApp right now.
There were about more than 14,000 users who reported the same issues with Instagram, while on the other hand there were more than 7,500 and 1,600 users who complained about Facebook and WhatsApp, as per to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.
Also when the Facebook apps were being down, Twitter around the same time was also facing some issues too. Twitter’s glitch was then later was been also resolved.
