Indian Tourism Minister, Prahlad Patel, has recently declared e-tourist visas for peak as well as lean seasons in the India. India is now going to offer a 30-day e-tourist visa for a fee of $25 for the duration of the peak tourism season in the middle of July and March.
As per to the PTI, Patel also declared a 5 year e-tourist visa which is going to cost $80 as well as 1 year visa for a charge of $40.
Not only this, but the minister also further stated that for Japan, Singapore as well as Sri Lanka lean period visa fee is going to be cost $10 and $25 for 30 days, 1 year and 5 years.
Other than that Patel also stated that India is going to offer a 30-day e-tourist visa at a cost of $10 fee for the period of April to June, which is considered to be a lean period in Indian tourism.
Speaking at the installation of a conference with state government representatives on tourism held on Tuesday, Minister Prahlad Patel said this move is stepped up in order to encourage more tourists to visit in India.
“India to offer 30-day e-tourist visa with USD 10 fee during lean period April to June and USD 25 fee during peak tourism period from July to March,” he said.
A new five-year e-tourist visa is also going to be introduced with USD 80 fee and a one year e-tourist visa with a fee of USD 40, Patel said. “For Japan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, lean period visa fees is USD 10 and for e-visa of 30 days, 1 year and 5 years is USD 25,” he further added his statement.
On the other hand, there is going to be no visa fee for tourists from total of 14 Pacific Island nations belonging to Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) such as Fiji, Cook Islands, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue Island, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu along with Myanamar, Argentina, Indonesia, Jamaica, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa and Uruguay.
In the meantime, both the home ministry as well as the ministry of external affairs (MEA) have given authorisation to the flexible e-tourist visa system.
