On the other hand Jasprit Bumrah also became only the 3rd Indian bowler after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan to get a hat-trick in Tests. Bumrah with his great bowling technique sent back Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase in sequential deliveries in the 9th over of West Indies’ innings in order to enter his name in the record books.

Bumrah had Bravo caught at the second slip Bravo and sent back him to the pavilion. Brooks along with Chase were caught plum in front and both were ruled leg-before wicket.

At the end, West Indies team completed day two at 87/7 after rushing India out for 416 runs in the first innings.

The starting innings of the Windies was bad as Bumrah had John Campbell (2) caught at the hands of wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant when he was just 10 runs on the board.

Mohammad Shami on the other hand has also rattled the stumps of Hetmyer (34) reducing Windies to 67/6.

On the second day with just 20 minutes of play left, Kohli brought his strike bowler back into the attack as well as Bumrah did not dissatisfy as he discharged Holder (18) in the 29th over of the innings.

After the pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s heroic spell on Day 2 of the 2nd Test between India and West Indies, Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli also turned presenter on Saturday in Jamaica as the India captain interviewed Jasprit Bumrah.

In an interview for bcci.tv, Virat Kohli also said that he wanted to take a chance by going for the DRS call. In the meantime, Jasprit Bumrah achieved his first-ever Test hat-trick to Kohli for using the review at the right time.

Virat Kohli asked Bumrah in that interview, “It was amazing to watch. Couple of special things happened today. 6 wickets as we all know, but getting a Test hat-trick. How did that feel?”

Jasprit Bumrah replied, “Actually, I didn’t know. I was not very sure of the appeal. I thought it was bat (first). That’s why I didn’t appeal so much. It was a good review in the end. So I think, I owe that hat-trick to the captain.”

After that Virat Kohli said, “We had a discussion. I asked him what he thinks. He thought the guy’s hit it. I asked him whether it hit in line. He said everything else is in front of the wicket but just that it has hit his bat first. So we all discussed, Jinx (Ajinkya Rahane) and me both thought he was late on the ball and we took the review. It happened to be on the right side.”

In the meantime, Jasprit Bumrah also stated that he enjoys working as a fast-bowling group together with the likes of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami as well as Umesh Yadav.

“It’s very good. There is a lot of communication that goes on the field as well. When I am getting wickets, the others will look to create pressure. When somebody else is taking wickes, my job is to create pressure. When there’s no help from the wicket, what we can do. Ishant and Shami have played a lot of test matches. A lot of communication happens and ideas come in. We try to help each other. If things are not going well, we try to push each other,” Bumrah told Kohli.

However at the end Windies did not lose any more wicket and then finally finished the match of the day at 87/7, still behind India by 329 runs.
