TVS Launches Jupiter Grande With Bluetooth, Price, Specification, Features Colours

TVS has brought back the Jupiter Grande with minor upgrades at Rs 62,346 (ex-showroom, Delhi). For 2019, the scooter gets Bluetooth connectivity, a new colour scheme and more. This makes TVS Jupiter Grande the first 110 cc scooter in India to get smartphone connectivity feature.

TVS Launches Jupiter Grande With Bluetooth

Unlike the older model, the new Grande is only available with a disc brake. At Rs 62,346, the Bluetooth console equipped Grande becomes the most expensive one in the range, Rs 2,446 more expensive than the TVS Jupiter Grande Disc SBT at Rs 59,900 and Rs 8,855 more than the standard Jupiter.

There are a number of elements which distinguish this top-end model from its siblings. TVS Jupiter Grande’s features include a semi-digital instrument panel with chrome bezel. The cluster houses an analogue counter for speed and a digital display for readouts like odometer, trip meter, service reminder, helmet reminder, digital fuel gauge, etc. This system also gets first-in-segment SmartxConnect Bluetooth connectivity which allows riders to pair their smartphone with the panel. Once done, it provides riders with access to features like text notification and call notification. This feature also provides with a number of other information like the trip report and over-speeding alert through a dedicated mobile app. Users will have to download the TVS Connect app on their iOS or Android devices to get the Bluetooth-enabled notifications to work.

Another distinguishing factor on the Grande is the light blue colour scheme that is paired to beige-coloured inner panels. It features a maroon colour seat that gets a cross-stitch pattern. The Grande also comes equipped with a new embossed logo that is now dual coloured. Like the previous-gen Grande, this one features machine-finished alloy wheels, LED headlight and chrome trim on the rearview mirrors. Grande, as standard, makes use of front disc brake in combination with rear drum brake along with SBT (sync braking technology) while all its siblings get drum brakes on either end. However, the new bike does miss out on the chrome elements the older model featured on the apron.

Jupiter Grande edition is mechanically no different from its siblings. It carries forward the same 109.7cc, single-cylinder engine that generates 8hp and 8.4Nm of peak torque. The new Grande is also not a BS6 model either as the transition to it would raise the cost of the scooter, which isn’t favourable in such a price-sensitive segment. The inevitable upgrade is likely to happen at a later date, closer to the April 2020 deadline for BS6 norms.
