Lucknow reports 125 dengue cases in past 2 months, Still Counting

Here’s been a lot of chaos at Lucknow as the state has reported around 125 cases of dengue in total of two months, with about more 13 patients testing positive.

There have been many victims who have tested positive on Thursday and comprise of six females, one of them is an 82-year-old woman. Out of the seven male patients, there are also two minor boys who are aged 11 and 15 years.

The cases have come in from several localities which comprises of Gomti Nagar, Ruchi Khand, Hazratganj, Tikrohi, Bazarkhala, Salehnagar, Neelmatha, Indira Nagar, Sharda Nagar as well as Rajajipuram.

As per to the health officials, dengue fever has affected around 173 persons in the state capital alone, with the highest number of cases being reported in the month of August and September.

The officials on the other hand also said that the total breeding grounds found till date, 70 per cent were found in water that are accumulated in desert coolers. People are also asked to clean coolers on a weekly basis or pour kerosene oil in the water tank in order to kill larvae, the officials said in statement.

A senior doctor of the Balrampur hospital, “A number of cases go unreported because people mistake the symptoms for viral fever which is also very common in this season,”

About Dengue

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne tropical disease which has been caused by the dengue virus. The symptoms of the disease usually begin three to fourteen days after infection. This may comprise of a high fever, headache, vomiting, muscle as well as joint pains, and a characteristic skin rash.
