Whatsapp to stop Working from January 2020 on Some Phones

From the past few years, WhatsApp has seen a great growth from being a simple messenger app to an all-in-one communication solution. The reason behind this is because of all the continuous upgrades by the app that keeps on getting every single week.

With new upgrades as well as great features, older phones don’t always cope up well along with that WhatsApp finally keeps dropping support for them each year. At the present, as we all know 2020 is approaching and on this occasion WhatsApp has released a list of more phones that are going to drop support for WhatsApp as soon as the calendar turns around.

In addition to that the recent update to the WhatsApp support page has been also listed a few platforms that are going to stop getting updates as well as it won’t run WhatsApp. On the other hand, the prime platforms among these are Android and iOS, and it is basically the bad news for ones who are using older handsets.

One must take note, that from February 1, 2020, all the Android phones that are running on Android 2.3.7 won’t be able to run WhatsApp. That in other words means no more updates and no more sending or else receiving messages through the app.

In addition to that, the iOS devices are also not left behind. WhatsApp also states that all iPhones on iOS 8 and the older ones are going to stop supporting its service from February 1, 2020. All the users of these iPhone models have lost the capability to create new accounts on these devices already from a long time and at the present they won’t be able to use the app any longer.

Furthermore, there’s also been bad news for Windows Phone users as well. The platform is long considered dead but at the same time Microsoft recently dropped support for the OS as well as WhatsApp followed suit by dumping beginning next year. You must take note if you use WhatsApp on Windows Phone, the app won’t work from January 1, 2020.

Therefore, if you use any of these old phones, it is recommended that you should upgrade to a new handset with latest versions of the software. Any of the iPhone models presently on sale run on iOS 12 as well as that should offer support for WhatsApp for at least 3 more years on older devices like iPhone 6s.

If you are an Android user, then you have a choice of hundreds of devices to choose from. But unfortunately for Windows Phone users, they won’t able to use the app anyhow and will need to move to Android or else to iPhones.
