The Government of Andhra Pradesh has come up with an attractive incentive in order to keep migrant workers along with other poor people to be held up in several quarantine camps amid the lockdown with several of them distressed in order to return to their native villages.

On Thursday, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy have also suggested that all the migrant workers who will stay back in the camps till the last date of lockdown when it will be lifted, they should be given a financial assistance of Rs 2,000 each, while leaving the camps after finishing their isolation period.
This amount would be quite helpful and useful to the migrant workers in order to reach their homes after the quarantine period as well as to have proper food.
An official familiar with the development stated, “This will encourage the migrant workers to stay put in the quarantine camps till the lockdown is lifted,”
In many parts of the state, people who have been kept in isolation camps have been leaving by foot in order to reach their native residences, after the lockdown has been extended till May 3.
On the other hand, the chief minister pursued details on the facilities that have being provided at isolation centres. He has also suggested that the poor people or migrant workers who are held up at the centres should be given nutritious food such as milk, vegetables, as well as eggs.
In the meantime, the officials have also informed the chief minister that an amount of Rs 850 had to be spent on every person who is put up at the quarantine centre, which also consist of Rs 500 for food, bed as well as blanket. Additionally, Rs 50 has been spent on sanitation facilities while Rs 300 on transportation.
In addition to that, a double room or single room is also being provided to the people in isolation and they are being also sent home after the medical protocol, the officials said in a statement.
The officials also said that all the quarantined people were being provided healthy food, in order to improve their immunity, which consists of dry fruits, citrus fruits, eggs and banana, other than regular meals such as rice, dal, sambar and curd.
