The celebrities including After Akshay Kumar, Bollywood “Greek god” Hrithik Roshan and the Indian singer and songwriter A.R.Rahman, has joined the “Global Goals Campaign”. They are the first Indian celebs to sign up to Radio Everyone, an program to spread the campaign 4.3 million listeners across 45 stations in 1200 towns and more than 52,000 villages.
Bollywood Celebrities To Join Global Goals Campaign
According to the reliable reports, these two stars Hrithik Roshan and A. R. Rahman have also become a part of the crowd sourced film ‘We the People,’ written by Richard Curtis and Mat Whitecross, alongside some A-listers Hollywood actors, including Ashton Kutcher, Bill and Melinda Gates, G.E.M., Gilberto Gil, Jennifer Lawrence, Lang Lang, Meryl Streep, One Direction and few others.
The campaign will take place globally to raise awareness of new Global Goals for Sustainable Development being launched by 193 world leaders at the UN Summit on September 25. The Global Goals are a chain of motivated and goal oriented targets to end extreme poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change for everyone by 2030.
This is a “Global Goals campaign”, founded by the filmmaker Richard Curtis, who announced as the aiming to make the 17 UN Goals famous and to push for their full implementation worldwide.
This is described as an “unprecedented effort”, the campaign is supported by a variety of other social movements including for a coalition of over 2000 organizations and Global Citizen, a community of ordinary people that help fight extreme poverty.
In India, the campaign is receiving support by the players from Indian Super League teams Chennaiyin FC and FC Pune City.
