In this article, we are giving you the information and update about the Delhi metro which started today on 7th September 2020. As we all know that from 22nd March 2020 our Delhi’s heart DMRC Delhi Metro Rail Corporation keeps its service closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic all over the world. After the spreading of the COVID-19 virus in Delhi, the government decided to do a ‘Janta Curfew’ on Sunday 22nd March 2020 by which DMRC also decide to keeps it service closed but at the end of the day our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi comes to do an announcement on television and he told a one-month lockdown for all the people and for the all the work for precaution from the coronavirus. So, DMRC also decided to keeps its service closed until any other notice comes.

Delhi Metro gets back on track

Lockdown increase for 4 months by which Delhi metro was also closed but after the announcement of Unlock 4.0, the government ordered DMRC to restart their service from 7th September 2020. Then DMRC scheduled a meeting in which they decided the procedure or make a schedule to restart their metro rail services and after the several days of meetings, they reached the conclusion. The lists of the metro are given below:

September 7: Line-2 (Yellow Line).

September 9: Line-3/4 (Blue Line) & Line-7 (Pink Line).

September 10: (Red Line), Line-5 (Green Line), and Line-6 (Violet Line).

On these dates, the metro will operate from 7 am to 11 am in the morning and 4 pm to 8 pm in the evening

September 11: Line-8 (Magenta Line) and Line-9 (Grey Line).

September 12: Stage-1 and 2 Lines, Airport Express Line.

After 12 September, all the metro services will runs from 7 am to 11 pm.

As today the metro service is started on the yellow line, various safety measures and precautions are maintained at the stations and the trains. Before entering the station, detailed measures for crowd management are taken and they maintained ensuring hygiene for the people to stop the spread of the virus. If the person enters the station without the mask, then there is a fine on this. When you entering in the station then the DMRC staff checks your body temperature with a thermal thermometer and aks you to sanitize your hand and all things with the automatic hand sanitizers. The internal shops of the metro station will remain closed and also the token sale is also closed. You have to charge your card through online, the whole station is going to cashless.

Once you get inside the Metro, then you see that on every alternate seat has a yellow sticker which ensures that commuters sit at a distance. For one coach only 3-4 passengers are allowed. As we know that before this COVID-19 pandemic, the Delhi metro carries 27 lakh passengers daily but due to this virus they have to face a big challenge to earn the revenue as before.
