Punjab Municipal Election Live Results: Counting of Votes Polls Winner List 2021

The counting of the votes for the polling of 109 civic bodies in Punjab is underway. Today, the counting of the polls has been started at 9 AM, and also, authorities have been arranged tight security at the counting centres. Total of 70 per cent of voting has been recovered in the civic body elections on February 14. A total of 9,222 candidates were in the fray of election to 2,302 wards of 8 municipal corporations of Bathinda, Batala, Kapurthala, Abohar, Hoshiarpur, Moga, Pathankot, Mohali and 109 municipal councils of Punjab state.

Here are total candidates, 2,832 was from independents, 2,037 belongs to ruling Congress, 1,569 was Shiromani Akali Dal nominees. Along with this, BJP, BSP, and the AAP had fielded of 1,033, 160, and 1,606 candidates, respectively.

On the other side, the BJP and the SAD fought the election separately after the National Democratic Alliance out over the farm laws situation last year. Also, after the opposition party accused the Congress party of “capturing booths” and “create violence” during polling. The Chief Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh said,” they were crying foul in the face of their “imminent defeat” in the polls.

According to the official details, Congress wins Faridkot municipal council in Punjab civic polls, said official reports. Indian National Congress Party (INC) has registered their win in 16 wards out of 25 wards, while Shiromani Akali Dal won seven and opposition party in Punjab assembly, AAP won only one seat and another one seat went to an Independent candidate.
