CBI turns to hit up and raid at 13 locations in four districts of West Bengal poll-bound in the connection with the coal misappropriation scam, the news said by officials. The searching is going on in Bankura, Pashchim Bardhaman, Kolkata, and Purulia district.
CBI Raid in 13 Location in West Bengal
In the searching of the coal pilferage scam in Kolkata, CBI includes Amiya Steel Pvt. Ltd. in Kolkata and Bankura and also added Joydeb Mandal, who is an alleged deputy of the suspected kingpin of the racket Anup Manjhi.
Last year in November, CBI registered an FIR against many people including Amit Kumar Dhar (Eastern Coalfield Ltd., General Manager), Jayesh Chandra Rai (Kajor area) besides ECL Chief of Security Tanmay Das, Kunustoria Dhananjay (Area Security Inspector), Manjhi urf Lala, and Debashish Mukherjee (Security-In-Law).
As per the official details, Manjhi alias Lala is included in the Illegal mining and stealing the coal from the mining leasehold mining sites of ECL in Kunustoria and Kajora area, the CBI told.
CBI started the investigation from “authentic sources” that targeted stealing coals and illegal exhumation in the leasehold area of ECL in collaboration with the officers of CISF, ECL, and Railways.
Last year, CBI raided over at least 65 premises across the state including West Bengal, in a coal stealing case. In the West Burdwan district, Bengal’s security in-charge died during the raid due to a heart attack in the hospital. Then, the raid conducted in two other states, Jharkhand and Bihar.
