Those looking for a john can apply for a 90 day visa which allows them to job hunt when they arrive. Since it can take longer than 90 days to find a job and then get hired, this can be extended another 90 dazed when it expires.
Once hired, your employer will handle the paperwork for you to get residence and stay in Dubai while you work. It’s important to make sure that your paperwork is in order to get the job too. For instance, have your diplomas and degrees certified internationally before you leave your home country.
Lastly, you’ll need a sponsor for your visit which can be from just about anybody. If you have a friend there they can do the paperwork for you. Otherwise, your hotel or travel agency can take care of this on your behalf.
Finding a place to live
You may be lucky enough to have an employer that transfers you to Dubai and will provide accommodation. Sometimes it’s temporary until you find your own place, but in some cases, it’s a permanent perk of the job.
If you have to find your own accommodations it can be daunting. Many places do come furnished since there is a high number of people coming and going so this does make it easier for you. If you are shipping your furniture then it may prove difficult to find a place unfurnished.
Just like anyplace else, if you are willing to commute to the city then you have more options to find a place.
