Well, the captain of Pakistan, Babar Azam has now broken the record of Virat Kholi and have replaced the latter one, from the title of fastest batsman to achieve 2000 runs in the T20I. It took the Pakistani batsman 52 innings to get 2000 runs in the T20 format. The Pakistan team played the 3rd T20I match against team Zimbabwe on 25th April 2021, that is, on Sunday at the Harare Sports Club. In that particular match, Babar Azam broke the record of Kholi. As previously mentioned, it took Kholi 56 innings to achieve a 2000 score, while Azam achieved the same score in only 52 innings.
Not just that, Azam has also become the third batsman of Pakistan after Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez to surpass the 2000 runs in the T20 format cricket and also the eleventh batsman internationally. He has also beaten the former captain of New Zealand, Brendon McCullum, Martin Guptill and Aaron Finch. Let’s take a look at how many innings it took to secured 2000 runs in the T20I men’s cricket. As earlier disclosed, it took Azam-52 innings, Kholi-56 innings, Finch-62 innings, McCullum-66 innings and Martin Guptill-68 innings to get to 2000 runs in the T20 format, which is one of the quickest formats in cricket.
In the match played by Pakistan at Harare Sports Club against Zimbabwe, Baba knocked 5 boundaries, while wicketkeeper cum batsman, Rizwan also smashed 60 runs. Rizwan has been doing great so far and is in perfect form as of now.
