A tragic incident took place in Pakistan on Tuesday, leaving 15 people killed and many injured. This terrible incident happened when a speeding passenger bus fell into a ravine in the Punjab region of Pakistan. The injured passengers were immediately shifted to the nearby hospital for further treatment. The police officials have also confirmed the news on Tuesday revealed some initial details about the accident.
This ill-fated accident took place when the speeding bus was on a highway in the Hasan Abdal area located in the Attock district of Pakistan. In the initial report of the accident by ANI, at least 11 people were pronounced dead while more than 20 people were said to be sustaining injuries. However, after few hours the number of the deceased in this accident increased to 15 whereas 35 passengers are said to be sustaining injuries whose treatment is currently ongoing.
According to the reports, the bus was travelling in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and was scheduled to travel from Lahore to its final destination in Mardan. As the speeding bus reached to the highway in the Hasan Abdal area, the bus driver lost his control, as per to the police. The officials further revealed that in order to avoid the accident after losing control over the bus, the driver tried to control the speeding vehicle but unfortunately while making an effort he hit another car which caused this accident.
The rescue operation was held immediately and the teams shifted the passengers including the bus driver to the nearby hospital. Sadly, some were already dead while the rescue operation started and the injured are currently admitted to the hospital where their treatment is undergoing.
This is not the first time that such reports of road accidents have been reported in Pakistan. Due to poorly maintained roads as well as speeding and careless driving has previously lead to many major accidents in which many passengers have lost their lives while many got serious injuries.
So far according to the latest report, this accident which was held in Pakistan’s Punjab province has killed 15 passengers, leaving 35 people injured, the police official said.
On this unfortunate incident, the Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari who is the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has expressed his deepest grief and condolence over the victims of the incident. He has also directed the civil administration for providing complete held and aid to the victims.
