Asian Boxing Championship: Indian Assured One Medal Remaining Will Come Definitely

Once again the Indian boxers are close to winning the Asian Boxing Championships 2021 that is held in Dubai. The quarter-final of the same was held on 25th May 2021, and four boxers from India made their way to the semifinals under different categories of boxing. Sanjeet from Team India under the 91 kg weight category fought against Tajikistan boxer, Jasur Qurbonov. Sanjeet gave a hard time to Qurbonov, as the latter was not able to get a single point during the round, while Sanjeet, on the other hand, secured 5 points and the round was ultimately in the favour of Sanjeet.

Now Sanjeet has made his way to the semifinals alongside Shiva Thapa in the men’s draw semifinals. While what made us more proud is that, this time three female boxer from India have made their way to the semifinals and there is absolutely no doubt that the girls are making us proud with their spectacular performance. Sakshi under the 54 kg weight category played the quarterfinal round against Ruhafzo Haqazarova of Tajikistan.

Sakshi fought fiercely in the ring and defeated the boxer of Tajikistan by 5-0 and in the coming semifinals, she will be seen competing against Kazakhstan boxer, Dina Zholaman for the title of Women’s boxing Asian championship under the 54kg weight category. On the other hand, Jasmine under the 57kg weight category fought against Mongolian boxer, Oyuntsetseg Yesugen and won by 4-1. In the semifinal round, she will be facing Kazakhstan boxer, Vladislava Kuchta.

Meanwhile, under the 60Kg weight category, Simranjit battled with Uzbekistan’s boxer Raykhona Kodirova and won the match by 4-1 and now, she will be fighting against Kazakh’s boxer, Rimma Volossenko. Simranjit will be representing India in the upcoming Olympic matches under the women’s category. So this year, one thing is for sure, that India is going to win seven medals including that of MC Mary Kom under the 51 kg weight category.

On 26th May 2021, that is, on Wednesday, Olympic bound men boxers, Ashish Kumar under the 75kg category, Vikas Krishan under the 69kg category and Amit Panghal under the 52kg category will soon be going play their upcoming match. Pangal will compete against Mongolian boxer Kharkhuu Enkhmandakh, and Ashish will be seen clashing against Asian games silver medallist and World champion, Abilkhan Amankul of Kazakhstan while Vikas Krishan will be seen locking horns against Moslem Malamir of Iran in their upcoming matches in the Asian Boxing championships.
