Fire In Lajpat Nagar Market Live Updates: 5 Showroom Damaged & 30 Fire Brigade Reached on Spot

A major fire has been broke out at the Lajpat Nagar area of the National Capital on Saturday. According to the reports, it was a showroom in Lajpat Nagar Central Market, South Delhi that has broken out the fire in around 10:00 AM in Saturday’s morning. On spotting the showroom in fire, the locals called the fire department officials after which several tenders along with some ambulances were reported to the scene. As per to the report, an official said that they were reported about the fire this morning around 10:20 AM when they received a call from I-block in Lajpat Nagar’s Central Market. Soon after the fire department officials were reported, they rushed to the spot with total of 30 fire tenders. Along with fire tenders, a number of ambulances were also sent to the scene for providing medical help to the people if in case someone was injured.

It has been reported that there were more than 70 fire-fighters who have arrived the scene in order to douse the fire as soon as possible. The incident took place early morning on June 12 and the fire initially broke out at a showroom in Lajpat Nagar’s Central Market from where it started spreading.

Atul Garg, who is the Fire Services Chief of Delhi stated that the fire was first started in the showroom after which it spreads from there to the nearby shops and areas due which it was intensified and now the fire-fighters are trying to control over it so that it doesn’t spread further.

Meanwhile, several videos together with the photos of the area on fire have been circulating online and have gained many views on social media. In those videos, you can clearly see huge plumes of dark smoke coming out of the area due to massive fire.

As per to 2:20 PM, the fire fighters are still present at the spot and are cooling down the fire and has received 30 more fire tenders along with hundred more personnel to help them out. According to the officials and few locals, the fire has swamped 3 buildings as well as six blocks.

As of now, there are no reports of any casualties so far. On the other hand, the nearby areas are fuming in fire with smoke all around and the locals are advised to stay away from the spot until the fire is under control. For this, the officials have barricaded the area in the Central Market middle around 50 metres from the burning spot. Shops within 10 meters of the spot have been not allowed to resume their operation until the situation is under control.
