According to the statement of the California Highway Patrol officials, they stated that the driver of a red Hyundai Elantra made an illegal U-turn around 2 a.m. on the southbound lanes and started travelling northbound in the wrong direction, striking a grey Honda Civic. Upon impact, the two vehicles burst into flames by which the persons who were seated on the vehicle got seriously injured and lost their lives sustaining many injuries.
