The accident happened at around 5:30 PM on Anthony Henday Drive westbound lanes from Rabbit Hill Road to Terwillegar Drive and all these lanes have been closed from the Sunday evening after a major crash resulted in sending one person to the hospital. According to the statement of the police officials, they stated that they responded at around 5:47 PM to the collision and after 6:30 PM, the Edmonton Police Service advised the freeway would remain closed for several hours as officers investigated and crews cleared debris. As per the statement, it is stated that a Ford pick-up truck carrying two occupants was eastbound when it crossed the median and wire barriers and began travelling against the westbound traffic flow.
The eyewitnesses who witnessed the accident stated about the accident that the truck then collided with a box truck and another vehicle, both of which only had one occupant. The paramedics then reached the spot and they took the male driver of the truck to the hospital carrying minor injuries.
