Reportedly, the competent authority in DGCA recently, came up deciding to impose a penalty of Rs 5 Lakhs on the Indigo airline under the conditions of the relevant Aircraft Rules. The incident occurred on May 9 and it is being heard that a boy was denied permission to board the Ranchi-Hyderabad flight as he was visibly in panic. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), in a statement, said that “It has been observed that the handling of the special child by the Indigo ground staff was deficient and ended up exacerbating the situation. Continuing the statement the official stated, “A more caring dealing with would have smoothened the nerves, quieted the youngster and would have deterred the requirement for the outrageous advance bringing about denied boarding to the travelers”.

Answering the shock, IndiGo CEO Ronojoy Dutta had said in a proclamation that they “had to pursue a hard decision”. “All through the registration and boarding process our aim obviously was to convey the family, notwithstanding, at the boarding region the young person was noticeably in alarm.
