Karisma Kapoor Files Dowry Harassment Case

The cops called Karishma a couple of days ago to record her statement and registered an FIR in the matter. Karishma alleged that she had been mentally harassed by the Kapur’s over a period of time.

According to her statement, the Khar police registered an FIR (no 98/16) under the dowry section – 498 (A): husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty – and Section 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

Sanjay Kapoor accused actress Karishma Kapoor for using their two children Samaira and Kiaan as pawns. It seems Karisma did not let Sanjay or his family members meet the two children for monetary purposes. Moreover, Karisma did not allow Sanjay’s ailing father to see his two grandchildren.

Sunjay and Karisma tied the knot in 2003, but things turned sour between the two quite soon. However, the two tried to work things out for a few years, but Karisma moved out of Sunjay’s house in 2010 and permanently shifted base to Mumbai. In 2014, the two decided to end their 12-year-long marriage and filed for a divorce through mutual consent.

Karisma’s lawyers sought time to respond to this and are likely to file the reply during the next hearing on March 3. In the last hearing, Karisma opposed her husband’s application for the interim custody of their kids.

The Delhi based businessman has also filed an application at the Supreme Court reportedly seeking a transfer of the case to New Delhi on the grounds of threat to his life from underworld don Ravi Pujara.
