The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. when an Innova car in which three people were heading to Bengaluru from Goa rammed a truck after the truck driver slammed the break suddenly. According to reports the truck was carrying a huge amount of red soil from Belagavi to Kunigal in Tumakur district.
