There is also a possibility of avalanche in Uttarakhand, Shatrughna Singh,Uttarakhand Chief Secretary tweeted that; “We received information from Centre about possibility of avalanche in states including Uttarakhand”.
The pilgrims of various religious places in Uttarakhand will definitely need to take precautions and avoid visiting the places known for the possibility of rain and snowfall.
Heavy rainfall alert is issued for next 48 hours at isolated places of Uttarakhand especially in Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts. Snowfall also expected.
Moderate landslides might occur in pregnable locations, so it also advisable for the tourists who are in Uttarakhand should avoid visiting the sensitive areas.
Uttarakhand has witnesses a heavy rainfall causing flash floods at 12,000 feet above sea level in 2013. Hundreds died and thousands lost their life in that mass destruction caused by the flood. We hope this might not to be repeated this time.
