#Kollam Kerala Temple Fire Live Updates Video: Atleast 110 Dead over 360+ Injured

A big fire broke out has been taken place in Kerala’s Puttingal Devi Temple on Sunday around 3 AM due to a suspected explosion in a storeroom which was full of crackers.

On the occasion of the temple festival, fireworks display was commenced at the temple since midnight. The hundreds of people were there and watching the fireworks show.

In this major fire at least 105 people were killed and 280 injured. Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy confirmed these figures. Injured have been taken to Trivandrum Medical College. Also a judicial probe has been ordered by Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.  A case has been registered against temple authorities.

According to an eye witness, at the moment Power supply went off and the whole area were surrounded by darkness and people ran.

At the temple one Dornier aircraft and six helicopters have been deployed. The Indian Navy and IAF helped in rescue operations.

On one hand, the IAF has also putted Advance Light Helicopter (ALH) and 4 choppers with Mi17 is one of them.

One another hand, the Indian Navy with two ALH, 1 Dornier and with medical teams served as a helping hand.

Also, 3 Naval ships – Kalpeni , INS sukanya and INS Kabra have been deputed to give medical assistance at Kollam coast.

At the Naval command hospital , surgical team have also been deployed in Kochi.

Prime Minister Narender Modi has announced a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh to the families who lost their one in the temple mishap and Rs. 50,000 for injured.
