IOC Announces Refugee Team To Compete The Games At Rio Olympics 2016

IOC officially announces that now ten refugees will participate this year’s Olympic Games in Rio de. RIO DE JANEIROrepresented a new flag for the conflict-riven countries. International Olympic Committee officially announced that this time they will form a team.

This team will not like any other competitors. They will give strength to those peoples who displaced by war and social unrest in all over the world.

You can check it on the official website of Rio2016. It was declared yesterday. Xinhua news agency and confirmed this news to everyone. South Sudan, two swimmers from Syria, two judokas from the Democratic Republic of Congo are participating in this teams.

A marathon runner from Ethiopia will join in this team. These all athletes will take part in this team. It is said that the initiatives will send a strong message to hope to asylum seekers in all the country.

It will be an indication and signal to the international community. They will express and shows that refugees are our fellow human. They are an enrichment to society. They will send this to message to around the world.

IOC President Thomas Bach announced this and confirmed it all. We will mention the team name below.

Rami Anis (male): Country of origin – Syria; host NOC – Belgium; sport – swimming

Yiech Pur Biel (male): Country of origin – South Sudan; host NOC – Kenya; sport – athletics, (800m)

James Nyang Chiengjiek (male): Country of origin – South Sudan; host NOC – Kenya; sport – athletics (400m)

Yonas Kinde (male): Country of origin – Ethiopia; host NOC – Luxembourg; sport – athletics (marathon)

Anjelina Nada Lohalith (female): Country of origin – South Sudan; host NOC – Kenya; sport – athletics (1500m)

Rose Nathike Lokonyen (female): Country of origin – South Sudan; host NOC – Kenya; sport – athletics (800m)

Paulo Amotun Lokoro (male): Country of origin – South Sudan; host NOC – Kenya; sport – athletics (1500m)

Yolande Bukasa Mabika (female): Country of origin – Democratic Republic of the Congo; host NOC – Brazil; sport – judo, (70kg)

Yusra Mardini (female): Country of origin – Syria; host NOC – Germany; sport – swimming

Popole Misenga (male): Country of origin – Democratic Republic of the Congo; host NOC – Brazil; sport – judo (-90kg).
