The former captain and country’s highest wicket taker, Mr. Anil Kumble is in the race to become the chief coach of Indian Cricket Team. He is in the list of 57 applicants who have applied for the highest profile post of chief coach of Indian Cricket Team.
Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) announced earlier that the board received the 57 application from the applicants for the post of chief coach of Indian Cricket Team. The name of candidates including likes Ravi Shastri, Venkatesh Prasad, and Sandeep Patil but the BCCI didnot tell the name of the applicants.

When asked about the applicants, the official of the BCCI said that he is the mentor in both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indian Teams of Indian Premier League(IPL). Mentors are basically extensions of coaches. No doubt about Anil Kumble’s knowledge and experience in this fields.
Anil Kumble, the 45 years old man, is currently the chairman of International Cricket Council’s Cricket Committee. Anil Kumble has also worked as the president of Karnataka State Cricket Association from 2010 to 2013.
Anil Kumble took his retirement from the cricket in the year of 2008. Anil Kumble is the highest wicket taker in India and third highest wicket taker in the world after Muttiah Muralitharan(800 wicket) who is Sri Lankan Bowler and Shane Warne(708 wicket) who is Australian Bowler.
Anil Kumble took 619 wicket in his career in cricket at an average of 29.65.
The nick name of Anil Kumble is Jumbo. Anil Kumble made his debut in ODI against Sri Lanka in Sharjah in the Austral-Asia Cup 1990.
Anil Kumble was awarded with Padma Shri in 2005. This award is the India’s fourth highest civilian honour. In February 2015, Anil Kumble became the fourth Indian cricketer to be inducted into ICC Hall of Fame.
Anil Kumble was born on 17 October 1970 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He completed his pre-university college education from National College Basavanagudi. Anil Kumble graduated B.E from Rashtreeya vidyalaya College of Engineering(RVCE) in Mechanical Engineering in 1991–92.
