Warner: “We didn’t start well and didn’t set a tone from ball 1. We were looking to keep them to 150. When we lost 3 wickets early, that put us on the back foot. Yadav bowled really well first up. It’s encouraging signs that our bowlers are bowling well so going on to good wickets will be a positive.”
Kolkata Knight Riders won by 35 runs
Gambhir: “It was a professional effort especially after Sunrisers had put us in. 160 was a good effort on this track. Everyone chipped in. If Russell had fired, we could have got to 180-190. It was a very flat wicket so I was delighted the way we bowled. Umesh set the tone. Hoggy was exceptional. It was a collective decision to pick 3 spinners, as we wanted to bat deep. I think we’ve been pretty unlucky with the weather. We knew if we could get a 40 over game we had the strength to perform.”
