Indian Air Force Aircraft AN-32 gone missing after it took off from Chennai

In the morning, Today, An aircraft of Indian Air Force has gone missing. It is reported that 29 people were onboard and the search operation for the plane is going on.

The AN-32 plane flying from Tambaram (Chennai) to Port Blair has gone missing for 1 hour. It took off from Chennai around 9 in the morning.

The Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard have launched a massive search operation to locate the missing aircraft.

The AN-32 plane was made by Russian. It is considered to be one of the most reliable machines that the IAF has. The AN-32 aircraft has the ability to take off and land from small airstrips.

Currently, about 100 AN-32 aircrafts are in service with the IAF currently.

The aircraft can fly up to for 4 hours without refueling. There is no official statement of its disappearance yet.

Full scale search & rescue operation launched in Bay of Bengal for IAF aircraft AN-32. One P8 I & one Dornier aircraft launched for search operation. 4 Indian Navy ships diverted to join in Search & Rescue operations.

4 coast guard ships & 2 dornier aircraft deployed for search operations 200 knot mile from east of Chennai.
