2 MLA of AAP Arrested, 1 under molestation Charge & another desecration of Quran in Punjab

On Sunday, two legislators of Aam Aadmi Party were arrested by the police. One leader of AAP charged with the outraging the modesty of a woman and criminal intimidation. The other one was charged with the desecration of Quran in Malerkotla, Punjab.

Aam Aadmi Party is now accusing the Central Government of political vendetta and systematic persecution.

The Aam Aadmi party’s lawmaker Amantullah Khan from Okhla     was taken into custody on the basis of the complaint of a woman. According to woman’s complaint, she was molested and abused by a staff member at Khan’s home on 18th July 2016. The complainant, a social activist, said she went there to complain about frequent power cuts in her neighborhood, Jasola in southern Delhi.

The woman also accused the AAP MLA of trying to run her over with a car after she visited his Batla house in Jamia Nagar.

Amantullah Khan is the 12th AAP lawmaker to face a FIR and 11th to be arrested by police on Sunday.

Naresh Yadav who is AAP MLA from Mehrauli, was arrested by the Punjab Police for his suspected role in the desecration of the Quran at Malerkotla in Sangrur district, Punjab on 24th June 2016. A Punjab Police team picked him up from his Delhi home.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal attacked against the twin arrests and said that Modi ji arrests one more AAP MLA.

He also tweeted on Twitter that Anandiben sends Dalits and Patidars to jail in fake cases in Gujarat and Modi ji sends Delhiites to jail in fake cases. Delhi and Gujarat will fight together. Kejriwal said that Modi is responsible for the police action.

Victim woman said that she was getting threat calls and messages from Khan’s men and Khan’s men stalked me.

DCP (SouthEast) MS Randhawa said that woman said Khan and his men tried to run her over near Ashoka Park, New Friends Colony, and a bike tried to hit her on 22nd July 2016 when she was on her way to court to record her statement.

The officer said that the woman felt unsafe and threatened to commit suicide.
