Being the most ancient show on television in the world. Eat Bulaga is like a habit which is almost synonymous to breathing fo the people not only in Philipines but around the world. Million viewers, lovers, tweeters and fans the show graced the love among them by 37 years and this is the day to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the show in the upcoming episode of the show today.
Today, the country’s longest-running noontime series on world’s television turns 37, celebrating almost four decades of serving happiness and love to viewers and fans all over the globe.
“Is it 37 years already?” asks Joey de Leon, a third guy of the trio that led the program together with Senator Tito and Vic Sotto altogether named and known as Tito, Vic, & Joey or TVJ.
“It makes me proud, really proud. Hindi lahat ng television shows umaabot ng 37 years ha, at daily pa!” remarks Joey expressing his happiness.
When “Eat Bulaga” aired it’s first episode on July 30, 1979, nobody has expected to be in it for such a long voyage. After all, they were in it for the publicity and the benefits.
“When we started, my purpose was to earn wealth and buy a car. I never really thought we’ll go this greatly,” shared Vic. “It’s true that we weren’t get paid for several months but luckily, we already had ‘Iskul Bukol’ then. The first time we expected to get our salary, the amount was left in a taxi.”
More than the publicity and popularity, it was the relationship build within the “Eat Bulaga” gathering that made it possible for them to carry it on for this far.
From a group of five when it was started, “Eat Bulaga” begin to grow into a large family of 18 whose guys just come together with one goal: to share a beautiful smile with its fans.
