Sedition Charges On Kashmiri Boy For Liking & Sharing Anti-India Posts On Facebook

Raipur: A youth from Jammu and Kashmir have been arrested on sedition charge by the Chhattisgarh police for posting anti-India content on his Facebook account.

Dipanshu Kabra who is Inspector General of Police in Durg District said that Tauseef Ahmad Bhat works with a mobile company in Durg District, Chhattisgarh. He was arrested last night by the local police.

IG Dipanshu said that On 2nd August, a group of local youths of Chattisgarh had lodged a complaint that Bhat had shared anti-India content on the social media Facebook.

Police said Bhat has been booked for forwarding , commenting on and “liking” several “anti-India” posts on a social networking site Facebook.

After an initial investigation, a team of Durg police nabbed Bhat from Jammu-Tawi Express at Sagar railway station in Madhya Pradesh when he was on his way to Kashmir.

IG said that Tauseef Ahmad Bhat is a native of Sopore, J&K.  Bhat graduated from a private engineering college in Bhilai in Durg district, Chattisgarh. He has been booked under section 124(a) of IPC (sedition).
