Apple acquires AI startup Turi for $200 million

Recently, Apple has acquired a machine learning and artificial startup, Turi, to enhance its products’ Artificial Intelligence capabilities.

According to a statement of a technology website that Apple confirmed the reports. The company said that Apple buys small companies from time to time and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.

According to Geek Wire that Apple has bought the startup ‘Turi’ for around $200 million. The Seattle-based startup was formerly known as Dato and GraphLab.

In the month of June, CEO of Apple Tim Cook also spoke on the importance of machine learning and artificial at Worldwide Developer Conference. Cook also hinted that the plan of Apple to open up Siri to developers.

Now it is still unclear what Apple plans to do with startup Turi. But contemplation are being made that the acquisition of startup Turi would help improve Siri to interact with people.
