Here’s a latest news that 5 people have been killed and more than 50 people badly injured after Amtrak passenger train derailed in Philadelphia. About 238 people and five crew members were on board the train, which was en route to New York from Washington, D.C. The incident took place on Tuesday, the authorities are saying they had no idea what caused the train derailment, that left some demolished rail cars strewn upside down and on their sides in the city’s Port Richmond neighborhood. Amtrak train derailed and rolled onto its side in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia Tuesday night. The train had six passenger cars and the engine. State mayor Michael Nutter confirmed that at least five people were killed in the accident, while addressing the news conference. According to a report from the fire officials more than 50 injured were immediately taken to the nearby hospitals

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter confirms at least five people are dead and 53 have been transported to hospitals with six in critical condition after Amtrak train 188 traveling from Washington, D.C. to New York. Officials say they don’t believe the incident was an act of terror and believe it was an accident based on preliminary information. Governor Tom Wolf arrived at the scene and spoke with Mayor Nutter during another press conference shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday. Wolf said his thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the crash and all those affected.
